The lantern ceremony remembered and celebrated some of the many people affected by cancer. The ceremony was made even more special by the music, performed by Alyssa Hamilton, Ana Santiago, and Emma Boksan.
At the end of the night, the final hour was packed with fun music, dancing, and smiles. Then, as participants hit 12 hours of standing, everyone sat and the Mini-THON team revealed the final amount raised: $85,825.61. This money goes toward the Four Diamonds organization, which funds cancer research, medical bills, therapy for cancer patients, and more.
Four Diamonds covers 100 percent of all medical expenses related to cancer care not covered by insurance for eligible Four Diamonds children. Because of events like EAHS’s Mini-THON, Four Diamonds has assisted 100 percent of the childhood cancer patients who have been treated at Penn State Children's Hospital.
