The Elizabethtown Area High School’s annual May Day is a day for students to take their learning outside of the classroom. On May Day, students serve the community and foster school spirit through a full day celebration of the school year coming to an end. It will be held on May 13 this year, and students will participate in volunteer hours in the morning, and fun activities in the afternoon. No Keystone testing or AP Exams will be held on this day.

If approved, Mill Road Elementary School would be closed and Rheems Elementary School, the Middle School, and the High School would be renovated.
By: Sierra Miller Staff Writer At the beginning of the second semester, several classrooms in the Elizabethtown Area High School began using a new system called e-hallpass. According Robert Crick, high school assistant principal, the “objective of e-hallpass is to provide a system by which students and staff can effectively utilize ‘passes’ in a 1:1 (Chromebook) learning environment.” Currently, the system is only being piloted, but after the 1:1 Personalized Learning Initiative is implemented next year, and every high school student has a Chromebook, e-hallpass will be incorporated throughout the entire high school. The middle school is currently using the e-hallpass system.

In January, Elizabethtown Area High School launched an Esports Club through the
North America Scholastic Esports Federation (NASEF). Esports is a competitive gaming league and has quickly grown into a massive industry. The EAHS e-bears compete in the Eastern Bracket of NASEF’s Winter League of Legends. Auditions have finished, and rehearsals have begun for Elizabethtown Area High School’s spring musical production: Seussical. This year’s musical is perfect for people of all ages; children will love the costumes and characters while adults will enjoy the acting, singing and choreography.
If there’s an empty spot in your yard that you don’t know what to do with, or you’d like to support local clubs and wildlife, you’re in luck - The Elizabethtown Area High School Roots and Shoots Club is planning to run a drive to provide saplings to those willing to plant them.
